Oundle based Iceni Cars offer two recent vintage and impressive white Rolls Royces (see right), both of which were in service when I worked with them in 2005.

Both cars were immaculately turned out and supported by suitably clad drivers.

Nothing out of the ordinary but the service was everything you would expect for your big day.

Based in Marholm, Peterborough Wedding Cars offer a choice of three "classic" Rolls Royce wedding cars for those that want the traditional feel for their journeys to and from the wedding.

Suffice to say that the 1949 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith (left) was immaculately turned out on the nig day and came with an equally immaculate driver both in appearance and manner.

A thoroughly professional operation that should rightly score additional brownie points for making the effort to create a neat and easy to use website.

Based on Broadway Peterborough, Peter Starey offers up two classic Rolls Royces, one dating back to 1929 and the other to 1934.

I had the good fortune to see both cars doubling up at an early 2006 wedding and I can vouch for the fact that they will stop you in your tracks. Immaculately turned out and ably driven by experienced drivers, including Peter himself.

When I enquired as to why they had no website or email, I was simply told that they were busy enough with personal recommendations .......... I guess that tells its own story !

Two classic vehicles for those wanting to travel in the classical style !

Cars For Stars are a national company with a local base on Lincoln Road in New England.

They specialise in luxury vehicles of a more contemporary nature, ranging from Mercedes through top-end Range Rovers to the inevitable stretch limousines.

Working an early 2006 wedding was the immaculately turned out Mercedes S500L complete with leather interior and an equally immaculate chauffeur. Some nice little extras were evident with floral decoration inside the vehicle and, in particular, the red carpet that was rolled out for the bride's arrival and departure ........ a very nice touch !

If modern luxury scores higher with you than more classical transportation then Cars For Stars are definitely worthy of a place on your short list !

Orton Wistow based Elegant Cars offer a 1930's style Beauford Tourer which is actually a replica of a 1929 American classic tourer but don't let the replica tag put you off ....... the sleek lines of this long bodied gem will turn heads as you cruise past !

Needless to say, the car was presented in immaculate condition with plenty of room inside too. There is a soft top option if the hairstyle can handle it and, if it can't, you can still pose with the roof down for some excellent photos after the service.

The owner/driver provides a first class supporting role both in terms of appearance and in his relaxed and accomodating manner ........ all in all, a very nice all round service.

Hudson Vintage Car Hire is based in Rothwell, Northants and will only be an option if you are getting married west of Peterborough ......... but, if you are, they certainly offer a very nice option !

Offering a range of immaculately restored vehicles, all carrying a distinctive and very elegant cream bodywork, all you need is the classical backdrop and the sunshine to set up the perfect arrival.

I worked with Hudson in one of Stamford's classical church squares and the fit was as near perfection as you could hope for.

There's no website and no email for Hudson but definitely one to seek out if your location is right.

Based at Brampton, near Huntingdon, Calibre offer a wide range of wedding cars ranging from 1930's styled Model "A" Ford lookalikes through 1980's leather upholstered Rolls Royces to a modern day E-Class Mercedes Benz.

My introduction to Calibre was via the perfectly turned out "Barnsdale" (right) which was spacious enough to provide a very comfortable journey for the happy couple and was driven on the day by business (and car) owner Peter Beckett who looked and played the part as chauffeur quite perfectly.

A long established service with a good selection of vehicles and well worth your consideration.
